I liked this article because it is a good representation of the LGBTQ+ community. This article discusses the drag queen community in Beirut in Lebanon. Lebanon had historically been more conservative with its views and laws so the fact that this group of people have a space to live their lives is amazing and wonderfully pure to me. It is amazing and important because technically homosexuality is still illegal in Beirut. Though that is still true it seems the tides are changing because of the impact western culture has had on them. Because it is more widely accepted here and there are gay characters and actor sin drag on tv it is somewhat more normalized. I think this story falls into the voices of diversity, self exploration, representation, and so many more topics which are all so important for this class.
